A native of Baltimore, MD, I was educated at Friends School and graduated with honors from Cornell University.
After college, I moved west to Wyoming and then on to Oregon to work in my field - regional planning and development. In Oregon, I met my husband Dan and within a few months, we had moved back to Jackson Hole, Wyoming where he had accepted a position as Planning and Zoning Director for Teton County. It was there that I began my career in real estate, obtaining my Sales Associate license in 1980 and my Broker's license in 1982.
My real estate experience in Wyoming encompassed residential and commercial sales, including a strong emphasis on vacation/second homebuyers and condominium sales, as well as property management. Our firm was also actively involved in project development and sales.
In 1987, our family moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland when my husband became the Planning and Zoning Administrator for Talbot County. I have been a full-time real estate professional in this area since that time specializing in residential sales.
Active with the Mid-Shore Board of Realtors, I recently served as Board Secretary after completing two 3-year terms as a director. My committee involvement has included professional standards, ethics, continuing education, membership, nominating, model forms, web site and program. I have also been on the organizing committee for our annual charity golf tournament that has successfully raised over $300,000 to benefit such local organizations as the YMCA, Habitat for Humanity, St. Michaels Library and Pickering Creek. I have consistently been a top producer with my firm and in the community, averaging over $10,000,000.00 in sales during the last thirty-eight years. I hold the professional CRS designation, Certified Real Estate Specialist, from the National Association of Realtors. Fewer than 4 percent of agents nationwide have received this honor. Recently, I was awarded the Distinguished Sales Associate by the Mid-Shore Board of Realtors.
I reside in Neavitt with my husband, Dan, retired Planning Director for Talbot County. I have two children, Ridge, who graduated from Villanova University, owned his own real estate brokerage in Breckenridge, CO and is now a Realtor with Tahoe Mountain Realty in Truckee, California plus owns West Shore Canvas, and Elizabeth, who after completing a world tour with Up With People, graduating from the University of Vermont and the Gemological Institute of America in Carlsbad, California, is the wedding and private events coordinator at Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum and also has her own jewelry design studio, Small Ant Workshop. Active in many community organizations, participation has included Christmas in St. Michaels, Waterfowl Festival, Festival of the Trees, St. Michaels PTA, Sts. Peter and Paul Parent's Organization, Miles River Yacht Club, St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Chesapeake Maritime Museum, Shore Gymnastic Club and the Talbot County Youth Soccer and Lacrosse Programs.
